Stump Grinding
Our professional stump grinding service is excellent for getting tree stumps cleared to make space for garden beds or for new lawn space.
How does stump grinding work?
A stump grinder has a fast spinning flywheel with hardened steel cutting tips to chip away and pulverise the wood into fine sawdust, lowering the stump to around 100mm below ground level.
What happens to the remaining stump and roots?
The butt of the tree trunk and its roots remain below the ground and will slowly degrade over time, out of sight.
How much does stump grinding cost?
Stump grinding costs depend a lot on how easily the stump can be accessed through a yard and how rocky the ground is just as much as the size and species of the tree. The best way to find out the cost of your job is to call 1800 806 130 and book a free quote.
Firewood Sales
We offer firewood delivery of seasoned and split red or mixed gum all year round. We recommend purchasing firewood well before the winter season to ensure stock is available and at its lowest prices. During peak firewood season, many suppliers will run out of available timber for purchase.
Additionally, we are always on the lookout for your firewood properties, which include large blocks of land in the hills and Murray lands with dead or fallen gum/eucalypt tress to be harvested for firewood. Contact us for more details.
Tree Removal
We remove small and large trees even in hard to reach places, as our climbing Arborists can access areas that a cherry picker or EWP cannot reach.
How do Arborists climb trees?
Using a range of high quality climbing and rigging equipment, we can safely dismantle and remove trees in an efficient manner. To remove a tree, our Arborists will first climb the tree using a harness, ropes and climbing spikes to set up rigging ropes and pulleys in the canopy of the tree. Branches will then be tied off on the rope, cut with chainsaws and lowered gently to the ground on the pulleys to a safe area without causing damage to property. From smaller trees in Adelaide to some of South Australia’s larger trees in the Adelaide Hills and Mt Lofty region.
Tree pruning
Our tree pruning service is highly beneficial to you and your trees, by maintaining the trees health and structure, and by helping to prevent limb failures which can cause damage to your property.
Preventative pruning
This form of pro-active tree pruning is typically applied to large Eucalyptus or Corymbia trees which are known for large, open tree forms with over-extended and over-weighted limbs that can fail, typically in harsh weather conditions such as drought and high winds. These failed branches can fall on buildings and property as well as causing severe damage to the tree. To help prevent these issues, weight reduction, preventative pruning is used to shorten or remove suspected tree limbs to reduce the chance of failure.
Maintenance pruning
General maintenance pruning is excellent for maintaining the size and shape of any tree, which is especially important in the Adelaide suburbs where space is limited and trees can easily encroach buildings and pathways if not taken care of. A few types of pruning methods include lifting, thinning, shaping and lopping.
Lifting is the act of removing the lowest branches of a tree to give clearance for walking beneath.
Thinning is excellent for aesthetic purposes and to bring in more light into the garden and surrounding plants.
Shaping is used to make a tree symmetrical or bring foliage back off roofs or fences.
Lopping is the act of severely reducing the height off a tree and is not recommended as it can cause permanent damage to the trees health and form.
